Sohail Khan car Crushes woman To Death

A 60-year-old woman was mowed down by actor and producer Sohail Khan's car at Bandstand in Mumbai on early Monday morning. The victim was taken to Bhabha hospital where she was declared dead. The Mumbai Police have registered a case against Sohail's driver Dhananjay for rash and negligent driving. The police are now trying to ascertain whether Sohail was present in the car at the time of the incident.

Rajini Trip in Himalayas

Punit Malhotra, who’s just helmed a hit for Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions
“I won’t cast myself in my next directorial project. I can’t direct and act together. But I’d like to act in a film next. An actor is what I came here to be,” says Punit. Would he be willing to be cast in a film written by Shobha De? Punit passes. “I’d get spanked on the sets every day.” But, before that, Punit is off on a holiday. Is the I Hate Luv Storys (IHLS) director joining his leading Sonam Kapoor in Edinburgh where she returns to shoot for Mausam after a break to promote IHLS back home?
The buzz about the director seeing his leading lady just got stronger with people close to the two whispering that after the film’s success the film’s director is off to spend quality time with her in Edinburgh. Though Punit, euphoric with the success of IHLS, admits he’s off on a holiday, he completely denies he is love-bound.
“I am not going to Scotland. I am going to the US for my holiday. I’ve lots of friends there I want to catch up with before I begin to plan my next film. If you want I can send you pictures of me posing at the Statue Of Liberty,” he offers.
Apparently, the success party has also been put off until Punit returns from his holiday. The fact that Sonam too will be back home in a month is just a coincidence. Once Punit returns he will start work on his next film. “It won’t be a rom-com,” he promises. But yes, it will star his pals Imran Khan and Sonam again.
And if you thought the young filmmaker would be embarrassed and apologetic about his run-in with columnist–writer Shobha De, who threatened to spank him after watching IHLS, you are quite wrong. In fact, Punit says he removed his shriveling retort to Shobha’s comment only because his mother asked him to. “My mother gave me hell about my remark on Shobha De. She wanted to know how I could talk to someone my mother’s age that way. Of course, I wouldn’t say such a thing to anyone! I’ve been brought up to respect my seniors. But if you're going to talk about spanking a 28-year-old you better be prepared to face the music.”
Punit says he has no problems with the bad reviews for his film. “It’s a free country. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. And I respect everyone’s opinion. But you can’t spank me if you didn’t like my film. We aren’t living in the Taliban. No, I am not at all apologetic about what I said.”

You are back on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) though on a different channel this time. What made you agree to host the show a third time?
Sony TV now has the rights for KBC and they approached me. They shared with me their research and the changes that they wished to incorporate in the show and I agreed.
Earlier you also hosted Bigg Boss. Doesn't television eat into the precious time that you have for movies?
No, it does not. The schedules get planned accordingly and film and TV get different slots and it all works out. I was also not shooting any film during the time of Bigg Boss and it's very likely that for KBC also the film shoot shall begin after the season is over. But even if it were not to, adjustments in dates would be made and incorporated.
KBC changed the relationship between cinema and television forever. No other game show since then has had the same impact. Do you in some ways, feel responsible for bringing cinema closer to the home medium?
That is too large a credit that you put on my shoulders. Innovators of the game show, its presenters and broadcasters and then the public are the ones that decide what shall work and how. I was merely a fortunate bystander that climbed on to the KBC joy ride. I am happy that it worked. This is not the first example of such a fusion. It has happened many times before, both here and in the West.
Not too many television shows after KBC featuring your colleagues have seen the success of KBC. Why do you think KBC remains one of its kind?
I would firstly disagree that shows featuring my colleagues were not successful, or as large as KBC. They have all done well – Shah Rukh, Salman and several others have all had their value and continue to have their importance. KBC conceptually was brilliant in its design. There was drama, learning, suspense and thrills all rolled into one. Its presentation was something that had been pioneering for Indian television. All these factors worked in its favor.
You've done two seasons of KBC. How would Season 3 be different?
Its host and anchor is 10 years older and wears glasses!
Your connect with the home viewing audience has proven to be exceptional. How do you intend to carry that connectivity forward this time?
The format of the show is binding by contract, but yes there are some innovations that will be different from the earlier one. The channel does not wish me to disclose this right now. They wish to bring that up at an appropriate time.
Anil Kapoor played host on KBC in Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire. Do you think he did the role well?
Yes, he was very good!
You've so far done only non-fiction on television. Are you at all tempted to take up one of the many soaps that are being offered to you?
There has not been a concrete proposal to do a soap, but if there were to be one I would not mind considering it.

Venkat Prabhu Not Interested On Ajith 's Movie ?
DSources in Kollywood report that Venkat Prabhu will not direct Ajith in Mangatha as reported by the media. Apparently, Ajith is not keen on multi-hero starrers at this point of his career and opted out of this project. Southern superstar and Bollywood's resident 'Idiot' from Rajkumar Hirani's blockbuster R Madhavan is playing games once again. Having dabbled in television extensively during his growing years as an actor, Maddy is all set to return to what he calls his first love. The actor who has a deep connectivity with audiences on the screen of any size believes size doesn't matter.
"It's not about how big it. It's the performance," he winks naughtily. "I've never taken television for granted. I've done 1800 episodes of television serials like 'Banegi Apni Baat', 'Sea Hawks', 'Saaya' and 'Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum'. It's quite a total! Television has been quite a learning curve for me. It has taught me the importance of time management, camera angles, space-management…I owe a lot to television."
It was with great pleasure that Madhavan was persuaded to return to television by Siddharth Basu of Big Synergy Communications to host their swanky new game show 'Big Money'.
As he prepares for his grand return to television, Maddy's excitement is uncontainable. "Because I was so busy with my film assignments in Mumbai and down South, I didn't think I'd have time for television. But then, I can't say no to Siddharth Basu. He's absolutely the most accomplished producer of quiz shows."
'Big Money' is the third game show that Maddy would be hosting. "Earlier I hosted 'Tol Mol Ke Bol' and 'Deal Ya No Deal' and enjoyed both the experiences. Moreover 'Big Money' is a desi adaptation of the popular international game show 'Family Links'. All the questions asked on the show would pertain to television and its popular shows. B.O. update: Youth luves 'Luv Storys', film starts with a bang
The second half of 2010 has begun with a bang, with the first release of July, I HATE LUV STORYS, fetching a fantabulous start. The film took off in a big way from the morning shows itself, with big city multiplexes opening to 80% to 90% response. At places, the occupancy was 100% as well. At plexes of relatively smaller centres, the opening was in 60% to 70% range, while single screens, expectedly, were not strong. The opening at some single screens was good [it picked up at big centres during the course of the day], but at smaller centres, it was below average, in 30% to 40% range.
Looking at the tremendous response from the youth, several plexes decided to add more shows on Friday itself. Also, at several plexes, the film fetched one of the biggest starts of the year. The opening day figures at several plexes were at par with 3 IDIOTS and RAAJNEETI.
Imran's second release, KIDNAP, which came right after the smash hit JAANE TU YA JAANE NA, had fetched approx. Rs. 4.85 cr. nett on Day 1 [Thursday; National Holiday], while LUCK had fetched approx. The brand Karan Johar + fresh pairing + excellent music + terrific promotion have lured the youth in hordes, while the audience feedback ranges from good to excellent [the youth is loving it].
Looking at the tremendous response from the youth, several plexes decided to add more shows on Friday itself. Also, at several plexes, the film fetched one of the biggest starts of the year. The opening day figures at several plexes were at par with 3 IDIOTS and RAAJNEETI.

"Imran and Sonam's comfort with romcom genre showed" - Karan Johar
Karan Johar is mighty excited with the way I Hate Luv Storys has opened at the box office. A romcom that was never touted to be the kind of cinema that was out of the ordinary, this Punit Malhotra directed film has found good acceptance amongst the audience.
Karan too must be heaving a sigh of relief since both his leading actors, Imran and Sonam, were coming with a baggage of a couple of disappointments each. While Imran's last two films Kidnap and Luck were action affairs and didn't find patronage amongst the audience, it wasn't quite a conventional start for Sonam either after Saawariya and Delhi 6 not quite hitting the bull's eye.
"Well, I truly believe that hits and flops don't have anything to do with talent of an actor", says Karan who trusted in both Imran and Sonam even as the chips were down for them, "So many factors contribute to hits and successes. Imran was sweet and endearing in Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na while Sonam was confidence personified in Delhi 6."
No wonder, he didn't have any questions around the casting when director Punit Malhotra recommended the two names.
"It was entirely Punit's decision to go with Imran and Sonam. In any case, I don't inflict my opinion on my directors when it comes to casting", continues Karan, "A film has to be as per the vision of the filmmaker. Once Punit mentioned Imran and Sonam, I was all for it. I had complete faith in the two actors. Now that the film has released, their comfort level with the romcom genre shows on screen."
Every love story is bound to be aided by some great music and this is something that has come for all around appreciation in case of I Hate Luv Storys. It is being unanimously accepted that music by Vishal & Shekhar is one of the major cores strengths of the film.
"That's right, music is indeed the highlight of IHLS; it is indeed great", Karan gives out a nod of appreciation here, "What is really terrific about Vishal-Shekhar is that they work really work with first time directors. I have noticed that earlier in case ofDostana too where they gave full hearted support to Tarun Mansukhani. They give you a lot of time and that is their biggest strength that I have always appreciated. It's an amazing quality as they don't just give you a lot of respect; they are also willing to go all out for you. If you reject 10 tunes for a situation, they would come up with the 11th. They don't loose patience.
